This position focuses on structural design within regulated nuclear environments, particularly for safety-related and non-safety-related systems.

Responsibilities
Lead civil and structural design activities for nuclear facilities, including foundations, reinforced concrete structures, structural steel, and building systems
Develop and review calculations, specifications, drawings, and design packages in accordance with nuclear codes and standards
Support plant layout, constructibility, and integration with mechanical, electrical, and nuclear systems
Apply seismic, wind, thermal, and load combinations to structural designs
Interface with licensing, safety analysis, and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with applicable nuclear requirements
Provide technical oversight to external engineering partners and AE firms
Support design reviews, hazard evaluations, and regulatory submittals
Contribute to design optimization for constructibility, schedule, and cost
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering (or closely related discipline)
Significant experience delivering structural design using reinforced concrete and structural steel
Prior nuclear industry experience is required, including familiarity with nuclear regulations, quality programs, and safety-related design processes
Strong understanding of ACI, AISC, ASCE, and applicable nuclear codes and standards
Experience with seismic analysis and nuclear load combinations
Background in detailed design, not just high-level concept work
Ability to work in highly regulated environments with rigorous documentation and review processes
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Experience supporting new build, advanced reactor, or major nuclear infrastructure projects
Familiarity with SMR or advanced reactor programs
Experience coordinating with licensing authorities and responding to regulatory requests
