They are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Test Technician / Service Technician responsible for assembly, testing, debugging, and servicing custom automation machinery, along with customer product testing and quality control inspection.

Responsibilities
Perform machinery installations, service, and warranty claims through direct customer and representative contact
Provides technical support to engineering and manufacturing for machinery upgrades and configurations including written documentation of field corrections and problems for their use
Performs the testing of product samples supplied by the customer for the purpose of determining equipment compatibility and configuration
Performs the final quality and performance testing of machinery
You will be involved in customer contact and assistance during machinery acceptance visits
Perform a series of checks (electrical and mechanical), analyze part control, machine functions, and operations per specifications
Flexibility to work in our South Elgin, IL or Belvidere, IL locations
Qualification
Required
3+ years of machine building, testing and debugging experience
Previous experience troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving machine failures in the field
3+ years as a service technician with experience as lead machine builder for automated machinery
Associate's degree or certificate from college or technical school or equivalent experience
PLC, Electrical (understands AC/DC Fundamentals, ability to read ladder logic and basic editing skills)
Must know how to read detailed 3D drawings, electrical and pneumatic schematics
Basic use of machine shop equipment (drill press, grinder, mill and lathe technology)
Previous experience using basic hand tools and measuring equipment (calipers, micrometer, scales and gauges)
Preferred
PLC experience a plus (ability to read ladder logic and basic editing skills)
