Responsibilities
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and healthcare regulations
Oversee timely financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders
Manage core accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger
Lead month-end and year-end close processes
Partner with revenue cycle teams to ensure proper billing, collections, payer reconciliation, claims processing, denials management, and reimbursement optimization
Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies
Ensure adherence to regulatory and audit requirements
Support the CFO with budget preparation, forecasting, variance analysis, and actionable financial insights
Assist with due diligence and financial integration for M&A activities as needed
Prepare schedules and documentation for external auditors and advisors
Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team during the interim period
Drive accuracy, accountability, and process improvement initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or controller-level role
Healthcare industry experience required, ideally in mental/behavioral health and/or Enhanced Care Management (ECM) programs
Deep understanding of GAAP and healthcare revenue cycle processes
Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to quickly integrate into an existing team and deliver results in an interim capacity
