Responsibilities
Prepare T2 Corporate Tax Returns, T1 Tax Returns for Owner/Managers and T5 slips to enable clients to meet tax compliance requirements
Proactively identify tax planning opportunities, prepare written memos and summaries
Working directly with clients on tax issues and document requests
Collaborating with Directors and Partners on more complex tax engagements
Research new tax topics and share expertise with the team
Prepare annual financial statements and supporting working papers in accordance with Canadian standards. The financial statements are utilized by high-performing entrepreneurial clients in discussions with investors, lenders and for internal reporting
Responding to CRA queries and notices
Collaborate with Cloud Finance Services Team to enhance key processes by creating training videos and step-by-step procedures. Promote sustainability and effectiveness by identifying pain points, analyzing root causes, and implementing sustainable changes
Create and improve standardized year-end financial statements and tax preparation processes, develop internal documentation and training
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in a multi-client accounting environment, ideally within a cloud accounting or public accounting firm with clients in Canada
At least 2 years of experience preparing financial statements and tax returns
Strong communication skills and client-facing experience
Proficient in financial statement preparation software such as Caseware Cloud, tax software such as CCH iFirm and cloud-based accounting software such as QBO and Xero
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
AI and Innovation Orientation: Curious and future-forward, with a desire to explore how tools like ChatGPT can enhance service delivery, internal workflows, and client outcomes. Eager to engage in continuous learning and support AMLB's commitment to embed AI thoughtfully into operations
