Part-Time 911 Administrative Call Taker
The City of Durango is seeking a Part-Time 911 Administrative Call Taker to support their Emergency Communications Center. This role involves answering non-emergency calls, gathering information, and routing requests to appropriate resources while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

Responsibilities
Answer non-emergency calls from the public and partner agencies, providing accurate information and assistance
Gather important details and decide whether calls need to be transferred to emergency dispatch
Enter and update information in the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system while handling calls
Provide resources and solutions using internal databases and tools
Record interactions accurately to ensure smooth follow-up and coordination
Work closely with team members and supervisors to resolve inquiries
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care
Communicate clearly, professionally, and courteously, including with upset or stressed callers
Qualification
Required
A high school diploma or GED
At least one year of experience in customer service, administrative support, or a similar role
Preferred
Listen carefully and communicate clearly
Are comfortable multitasking in a technology-driven environment
Work independently with focus, accuracy, and follow-through
Stay calm and professional while making thoughtful decisions
