Responsibilities
Directing bakery department personnel, meeting department’s goals and objectives
Managing and bakery while the bakery team lead is not on duty
Communicating directly with the bakery team lead, store director and bakery specialist
Ordering the supplies and products necessary to maintain adequate stock levels
Merchandising bakery goods in accordance with bakery merchandising standards
Execute and support all sales and merchandising initiatives
Serving as the leader of his/her department, role model, coach, performance evaluator and trainer for his/her team
Ensuring department and team compliance with heath department and weights and measures requirements
Understanding the importance of and monitoring product pricing, signage, and placement as well as the use of product shelf tags and shelf signage
Keeping a clean, neat and orderly check stand/sales counter and work production areas
Wrapping, boxing, weighing, slicing, finishing, and stocking bakery department products, rotating them as necessary to ensure quality and safety
Taking customer orders, ensuring orders are completed on time and to the customer’s satisfaction
All other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must be 18 years of age
Must be 21 years of age for any position that serves alcohol
Ability to safely work in a fast-paced environment
Experience in providing excellent customer service
Ability to direct bakery department personnel
Ability to manage the bakery while the bakery team lead is not on duty
Strong communication skills with bakery team lead, store director, and bakery specialist
Ability to order supplies and products to maintain adequate stock levels
Knowledge of bakery merchandising standards
Ability to execute and support all sales and merchandising initiatives
Leadership skills to serve as a role model, coach, performance evaluator, and trainer for the team
Understanding of health department and weights and measures requirements
Ability to monitor product pricing, signage, and placement
Ability to keep a clean, neat, and orderly check stand/sales counter and work production areas
Ability to wrap, box, weigh, slice, finish, and stock bakery department products
Ability to take customer orders and ensure they are completed on time and to customer satisfaction
