Technology Manager
Northwestern Illinois Association (NIA) is a regional governmental agency dedicated to providing special education support. The Technology Manager is responsible for managing the organization's technology infrastructure and cybersecurity, ensuring compliance and reliability while supporting operational goals.
Education Management
Responsibilities
Develop and execute a technology strategy aligned with organizational and operational goals
Serve as the primary advisor on IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data privacy compliance (FERPA, SOPPA, and related laws)
Oversee network infrastructure, servers, cloud services, databases, backups, and disaster recovery
Administer and maintain systems including Active Directory, Microsoft Entra, Microsoft 365, Google environments, SQL Server, and endpoint security tools
Manage hardware lifecycle, device imaging and deployment, and repair of computers, printers, and related equipment
Implement cybersecurity best practices, conduct vulnerability assessments, and coordinate incident response
Plan and manage technology projects, procurement, asset tracking, and vendor relationships
Provide escalation-level technical support and ensure timely resolution of helpdesk issues
Maintain accurate documentation, records, and reports; coordinate meetings, schedules, and technology-related events
Deliver strong customer service while fostering a responsive, collaborative IT culture
Qualification
Required
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and maintain confidentiality
Demonstrated customer service mindset and professional judgment
Knowledge of applicable employment laws, school administration, and record management
Willingness to adopt new technologies and continuously improve processes
