The NYS Office of General Services is seeking a Professional Engineer 1 (Electrical) to perform electrical engineering duties, including design and management of electrical systems. The role involves preparing drawings, coordinating with technical disciplines, managing project schedules, and overseeing consultant work.

Responsibilities
Perform electrical engineering duties including electrical systems design or management of ongoing rehabilitation of existing electrical equipment
Prepare electrical drawings and details, specifications, estimates, and/or studies for design projects
Coordinate design drawings and related specifications, construction costs estimates, etc., with the other technical disciplines
Actively manage the schedule of assigned projects according to workload, priorities, and design schedules
Review reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates prepared by design consultants
Actively oversee consultant design work for assigned projects
Develop and maintain project documentation, including records of meetings, correspondence, and progress
Review shop drawings, respond to contractor Requests for Information, create and/or review Information Bulletins, and provide similar construction administration and observation during the project’s construction
Perform a full range of supervisory duties, including reviewing the work of subordinate staff
Qualification
Required
A New York State Professional Engineer's license and current registration AND a qualifying bachelor's degree or higher as listed below; OR a New York State Professional Engineer's license and current registration AND one year of full-time qualifying engineering experience as listed below
Qualifying degrees: Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or Engineering Science with a recognized concentration in any of the above listed engineering degrees
Qualifying experience: One year of full-time engineering experience in electrical systems
Current New York State employee with one year or more of qualifying permanent service in a position allocated to a Grade 22 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law
Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver's License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle is required or otherwise demonstrate the capacity to meet the transportation needs of the job
