Finance Manager

Responsibilities

Prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts in partnership with the General Manager, targeting ±5% forecast accuracy
Analyze KPIs and plant initiatives to identify growth and cost improvement opportunities
Collaborate with commercial leaders to challenge and validate revenue assumptions
Simplify budgeting and reporting processes
Communicate financial and non-financial performance indicators clearly
Identify key business drivers and articulate financial impact
Support, track, and review cost-takeout initiatives
Partner with site leadership on long-range capital planning
Assess competitive strengths and weaknesses to inform strategy
Oversee internal controls and remediation activities
Ensure compliance with company policies and delegated authority levels
Safeguard site assets and ensure accurate financial reporting
Balance value creation with control efficiency
Drive process improvements through IT enhancements and best practices
Perform customer and product profitability analysis and identify margin erosion
Facilitate discussions to improve margins through pricing, volume, or operational efficiency
Perform month-end close activities within the ERP system
Review daily job costing and resolve discrepancies
Validate WIP, finished goods, and raw material balances
Review journal entries and P&L classifications
Support inventory counts and reconciliations
Perform additional accounting tasks as needed
Support decision-making to improve working capital and cash flow performance
Conduct benchmarking against similar manufacturing facilities
Prepare and deliver presentations for plant visits and leadership reviews

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Cost Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (required)
Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience (pulp & paper industry preferred)
Advanced, validated Excel skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Experience supporting large capital projects
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a changing environment
