Chemical Process Engineer

Responsibilities
Serve as a systems-focused chemical engineer supporting startup, commissioning, and long-term operation of complex chemical process systems
Develop, write, and maintain startup, commissioning, and operational procedures
Gain a deep, working understanding of multiple reactor systems, including how subsystems interact and perform under operational conditions
Provide hands-on troubleshooting support during system startup and commissioning activities
Support ongoing operations through system performance monitoring, issue resolution, and procedure updates
Perform physical system walkdowns to verify configuration, operability, and readiness
Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and technical leadership to ensure safe and reliable system performance
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
10–25 years of chemical engineering experience, with a strong emphasis on chemical systems and operations
Demonstrated experience with chemical process systems, including startup and operational support
Uranium processing experience or commercial chemical industry experience is required
Strong understanding of system interactions, operational risk, and process troubleshooting
Proven ability to translate system knowledge into clear, usable operational procedures
Ability to physically walk down systems, including navigating industrial facilities
United States Citizenship
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Security clearance, if required
Preferred
Experience supporting reactor-based chemical systems
Background in commissioning or startup of complex industrial or energy-related facilities
Experience working in highly regulated or safety-critical environments
