Responsibilities
Manages and coordinates the research of courthouse records for deeds, servitudes, government land office plats, and other recorded documents necessary to perform boundary surveys for project
Provides assistance to other sections in the district concerning surveying; determines right of way limits, helps with disposal of excess right of way, performs drainage surveys, and performs assistance to the levee districts
May be required to perform other duties as necessary including, but not limited to, emergency/disaster support activities
Receives job assignments from a Surveyor Supervisor and determines the best method to conduct the survey, and with the help of the crew, performs the fieldwork
Request and order supplies and equipment for the survey department
Qualification
Required
Possession of a current Louisiana Land Surveyor Intern certificate
Possession of a current Land Surveyor Intern certificate or Possession of Land Surveyor License issued by LAPELS
Do you possess a valid Louisiana driver's license?
Do you possess either a High School Diploma or GED?
Do you have a current Louisiana Land Surveyor Intern certificate to practice professional land surveying?
Do you have a current Louisiana license to practice professional land surveying?
Are you willing to perform other duties as necessary, including, but not limited to, emergency disaster support activities after work hours, weekends, and holidays?
