Oversees professional and technical staff while ensuring safe work practices, regulatory compliance, and strong engineering standards across all assigned projects
Manages engineering teams, overseeing complex capital projects, and navigating public-sector contract and procurement processes, including bid development, contract administration, and adherence to government regulations and standards
Reviews plans, coordinates with contractors and partner agencies, resolves technical challenges with sound judgment, and ensures compliance with applicable laws, codes, and policies
Prepares reports, presents recommendations to City leadership, and fosters effective relationships with staff, developers, community groups, and elected officials
Qualification
Required
Experienced civil engineering professional
Strong technical expertise in municipal infrastructure design, construction, and inspection
Proven experience managing engineering teams
Experience overseeing complex capital projects
Experience navigating public-sector contract and procurement processes, including bid development and contract administration
Adherence to government regulations and standards
Ability to review plans and coordinate with contractors and partner agencies
Ability to resolve technical challenges with sound judgment
