MAG Aerospace is bidding on a high-level government satellite communications support program and is seeking a Ground Systems Controller / Modernized Earth Terminal (GSC and MET SME). The role involves providing technical expertise for ground systems and the Modernized Earth Terminal, ensuring mission readiness through engineering services and training.

Responsibilities
Provides specialized technical expertise for upgrading, operating, and maintaining Large Fixed SATCOM Earth Terminals, particularly replacing legacy AN/GSC-52 systems with modern, modular X/Ka-band capabilities. They ensure mission readiness through engineering services, obsolescence mitigation, and training, supporting DoD wideband satellite systems
System Modernization: Expertise in the MET program, which replaces aging, large fixed-site terminals
Technical Support & Engineering: Conducting technical studies, system testing, and obsolescence mitigation by recommending replacements for obsolete parts in legacy terminals
Capabilities: Providing in-depth knowledge of simultaneous X/Ka-band operations, IP modems, and the Monitor and Control (M&C) unit, which manages up to six collocated terminals
Training & Readiness: Developing and instructing on, or maintaining, advanced SATCOM systems to ensure battlefield communication supremacy
Compliance: Ensuring terminal compliance with federal standards, including High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) protection
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 8 years satellite ground station experience
Minimum of 4 years MET experience as an operator and maintainer (including detailed maintenance work)
Minimum 2 years WSOC experience preferred (e.g. operator, system administrator)
High School education
Top Secret clearance
US Citizenship required
