Business Development Sr. Specialist
Liberty Dental Plan is seeking a Strategy & Business Development Sr. Specialist—a key contributor who will create compelling sales materials, support growth initiatives, and help shape Liberty’s footprint across Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial markets. Responsibilities
Support the AVP of Strategy & Business Development in researching new business development opportunities, including Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial markets
Provide support through market research, competitive analysis, and data insights that assists with the development and refinement of the organization’s growth strategy Monitor industry trends, state procurement activity, and health plan opportunities relevant to dental benefit administration
Support go/no-go decision processes by compiling and organizing relevant data and materials
Provide support to the Proposal Team and assist with proposal development, including assistance with oral presentations as a part of formal and informal Requests for Proposals
Assist in managing the business development pipeline, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely updates
Assist in preparing pipeline reports and dashboards for executive leadership, highlighting opportunities, risks, and progress against growth targets
Support go/no-go decision processes by compiling and organizing relevant data and materials
Develop and maintain high-quality, executive-level PowerPoint presentations for sales pitches, RFP responses, internal strategy discussions, and leadership meetings
Translate complex data and concepts into clear, visually compelling materials appropriate for external and internal audiences
Ensure brand consistency, accuracy, and professionalism across all business development materials
Provide project coordination support for business development initiatives, RFP responses, pricing activities, and strategic projects
Track timelines, deliverables, and dependencies to ensure deadlines are met
Coordinate with Sales, Client Services, Underwriting, and Operations to gather inputs and align on deliverables
Conduct research and data analysis to support Sales and Client Services, including client-specific insights, utilization trends, and market intelligence
Compile and analyze data using Excel and other tools that will inform pricing, strategy, and client discussions
Support ad hoc analytical requests from the AVP of Strategy & Business Development and senior leadership
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree preferred (related field). May be substituted with 5+ years of senior-level experience at a dental benefit administrator
Minimum 5 years of experience in business development support, strategy, sales operations, consulting, or health/dental plan administration
Exceptional PowerPoint skills and the ability to independently create executive-quality sales decks
Strong research capabilities, with the ability to navigate Medicaid/Medicare state websites, procurements, policy documents, and regulatory sources
Highly motivated self‑starter with the initiative to anticipate needs and move work forward proactively
Strong collaborator who works effectively across departments and with senior leadership
Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and comfort handling confidential information
Preferred
Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, or managed care is strongly preferred
