The role involves supporting operations, resolving manufacturing issues, and collaborating with engineering teams to ensure high quality and efficiency in production.

Responsibilities
Support all aspects of operations in Fremont, including powder handling, process development, part assembly, tool organization, and cleaning
Work closely with engineers to resolve manufacturing issues, improve processes, and establish procedures ensuring high quality and efficiency
Identify and resolve manufacturing quality issues, perform root cause analysis including hands-on characterization, implement corrective actions, and maintain quality performance metrics
Assist in FMEA activities to identify design and manufacturing risks and implement mitigation strategies
Draft and maintain process documentation, quality plans, and control plans, while supporting Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and suppliers to enhance production processes, specifications, and training programs
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring production teams and external suppliers meet quality and efficiency standards
Qualification
Required
Hands-on experience with material characterization equipment
Strong willingness to learn and apply advanced characterization and analysis techniques
Proficiency in hands-on manufacturing tasks and tools
Detail-oriented mindset with strong record-keeping, organizational skills, and excellent communication abilities with command of the English language both written and verbal
Ability to develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for material characterization and handling
Proficiency in computer operations and standard software applications
Ability to lift and sort parts up to 50 pounds as needed
Use of respirators or PAPR is required when working on the manufacturing line
Preferred
Experience with lab-based characterization techniques such as SEM-EDS, XRF, and optical microscopy
Experience in roll-to-roll manufacturing
Experience with programming or database management (JMP, SQL, Python, MATLAB, R, etc.)
