Responsibilities
Produces well-organized, finished design documents of good appearance, accuracy, clarity and correctness from layouts, sketches, or written instructions
Applies discipline design and detailing fundamentals in developing designs and specifications under the supervision of and subject to final approval by the Licensed Professional
Performs analysis or calculations as assigned
Creates work plan for assigned tasks
Monitors and projects personal workload status, advising supervisor of difficulties in accomplishing schedules
Coordinates and checks work carefully to minimize all deficiencies, errors and omissions
Performs dimensional, interference, and basic design checks on the layouts and sketches of Licensed Professional and, as requested, on interdisciplinary drawing sets
Assists Licensed Professional with plotting/production/assembly of drawing packages and writing specifications
Maintains orderly work files and prepares clear well-written memos/ correspondence
When assigned, prepares presentation materials
Subject to final approval of Licensed Professional, checks shop drawings and submittal data for conformance with contract documents
Assists Licensed professionals in field inspections, development of solutions to field problems, preparation of field orders, addenda, and record drawings
Works toward accomplishing and documenting requirements to attain eligibility to take a professional licensing exam
Participates in professional community organizations and trade organizations within discipline
Qualification
Required
Pursuit of a professional engineering degree in civil or related discipline from an accredited college or university
Must have good personal habits
Work well with others
Be able to stay on task and complete work on schedule
Be able to work independently as well as on a team
Ability to visit other locations
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds
Good hand-eye coordination
Arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp
Visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information
Ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear
