Revenue Cycle Supervisor
Mecklenburg EMS Agency (Medic) is seeking a Revenue Cycle Supervisor to lead and manage the healthcare revenue cycle processes. The role involves overseeing billing procedures, compliance audits, and departmental operations while ensuring quality customer service and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
In-depth knowledge of ambulance medical billing and procedures and submission of insurance claims
Understands and has experience with all functions of the healthcare revenue cycle, with the ability to apply specific methodologies for desired outcomes, including EMS claims’ billing for government and commercial payors
Maintain a working knowledge of CMS regulations, third-party payers, and changes to insurance laws, with the ability to perform compliance audits
Department liaison to resolve account questions and concerns with NC Department of Revenue and NC Office of County Commissioners
Be a department and Agency leader; make decisions, solve problems, develop departmental processes, practices and procedures, conduct meetings and represent the department as needed for internal/external interactions
Attend yearly training, facilitate program updates to staff and resolve patient disputes for Debt Set off programs
Establishes priorities for anticipated departmental requirements for each fiscal year; submits department-level annual budget information, recommends budget revisions as appropriate, administers approved budget and monitors departmental operational and labor expenditures for fiscal compliance
Manages and monitors employees in the areas of time/attendance, workplace safety, education and development, time management, performance evaluation, and goal development. Promoting a culture that values diversity and inclusion and opens proactive communications
Organizes workflow and prepares schedules; reviews payroll; approves timesheets and leave time; oversees departmental training and quality assurance efforts
Support, lead and participate in Agency improvement work, including encouraging employees to utilize improvement models within department work. Develop, manage and lead improvement projects for movement towards better aligning the Agency with our purpose, mission, vision, and values. Understand, monitor, and support Agency, departmental and individual KPIs
Develops or assigns the development of measurement tools to determine the effectiveness of programs and processes both internal and external to the department; provides feedback when appropriate; and makes recommendations for improvement
Collaborate with other departments to identify, design, develop, monitor and implement quality improvement initiatives that meet the needs of the Agency
As a leadership representative, support the Agency's mission, vision, strategic plans, goals, and management decisions; establish program/department mission and goals. Establish program/departmental mission and goals. Adhere to all Agency policies and protocols while maintaining confidentiality of information
Ensures quality customer service is provided to all customers, including internal and external; managing training and consistently monitoring personnel for productivity, quality and effectiveness, to include departmental monthly cash goals
Ensure the department has all needed tools to perform job functions, including but not limited to: equipment, supplies, hardware, and software
Understands and can articulate the department and agency’s policies and procedures as well as critical issues and challenges

Three (3) years healthcare billing experience required
Individual must not be excluded from filing claims to any federal or state government payor
Individual must maintain a clean credit report
Preferred
Associate degree preferred
Ambulance billing and healthcare revenue cycle process experience preferred
Excellent verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability in the use of Microsoft products
Ability to perceive and distinguish emotions during interactions with people via telephone and respond courteously
Ability to work within a team-oriented, fast-paced, customer-focused environment
