Responsibilities
Perform requirements analysis and decomposition
Meet with clients and cross-functional software teams to solicit, document, and clarify system and software requirements
Ask targeted technical questions and actively listen to stakeholders in order to accurately collect and draft feature requirements
Create boundary diagrams and interface specifications
Design and promote new control systems and sub-processes
Analyze engineering data from engines or machines
Evaluate new products, processes, or systems
Support electrical system commissioning activities (preferred)
Keep up to date on new technologies such as Matlab/Simulink
Support and advise engineers, managers, marketing personnel, customers, and suppliers
Communicate the voice of the customer and project specifications to the Applications Engineering team for proper equipment selection and configuration
Review equipment approval drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with corporate standards prior to customer release
Feature-by-feature software development per Software Requirements Documents (SRD) for embedded engine control applications
Integration, development, simulation, and validation utilizing:
C++ / Python / Matlab Simulink
CAN / J1939
Development and calibration tools such as CANalyzer
Qualification
Required
Degree in Electrical Engineering
2–4 years of relevant engineering experience
Essential/basic knowledge of electrical engineering concepts
Experience with C++ / Python / Matlab Simulink, CAN/J1939, and development calibration tools
Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical discussions into clear, structured requirements
While no direct coding tasks are required, working knowledge of programming languages is essential for effective collaboration with software teams
Preferred
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
High-level understanding of C language
Experience with electrical system commissioning
