Responsibilities

Oversee and implement programs for transformative economic development, in alignment with the countywide Economic Development Strategic Plan
Attract new business
Sustain a skilled workforce
Generate viable plans for expanded access to affordable housing
Maintain good working relationships across a broad range of entities, including the business community, local governments, state agencies, and neighborhood associations
Provide strategic direction and timely updates to KCEPD, COG, the Board of County Commissioners, city councils, and other groups
Represent KCEPD at state, regional, and local economic-development forums
Generate economic-development funding from federal grants, state programs, and private investment
Manage the organizational budget and track financial metrics
Oversee the daily workload of assigned staff, training and coaching employees
Assist in recruitment to fill new and vacant positions
Report to COG on employment actions such as performance and goal of the economic development group

Required
