Responsibilities

Responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of assigned community-based program efforts in Cook Children’s primary service areas
Work to reduce the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) by educating and supporting professionals and families in the community
Promote community relationships through collaborative partnerships, working with diverse populations and prioritizing under-resourced communities
Serve as a resource to community and system leadership to identify target audiences to communicate results and outcomes of community-based efforts
Requires some weekend/evening work and routine travel in the eight-county service area as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred
At least 3 years of community-based experience in relevant field: community engagement, building community capacity, health education, health promotion, etc
Administrative experience and skills including strong computer skills and proficiency with various software/database applications
Effective verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Familiar with public health terminology, a self-starter, independent worker, highly motivated and able to work responsibly to protect patients' confidentiality and privacy
Must have current, valid Texas drivers license with clean driving record
Private, reliable transportation capability
Must be 21 years of age
Take and pass Cook Children's defensive driving course once employed, and annually thereafter
Able to drive assigned CCHCS vehicle as an approved driver
Certification must be obtained within first 6 months of hire or as soon as a local course is available

Preferred

master's degree preferred
Bilingual in English/Spanish or other language preferred but not required
Relevant certification in injury prevention preferred
Child Safety Coordinators ONLY require Safe Kids Worldwide Child Passenger Safety Technician Certification or Child Passenger Safety Technician Instructor Certification
