Responsibilities
Standardizing delivery processes across multiple delivery platforms
Leveraging agile methodologies and modern delivery tools to ensure efficiency, transparency, and continuous improvement
Setting and tracking performance metrics to measure delivery success, quality, and team productivity
Managing diverse talent, including in-house technical teams, leading contract workers, and partnering with top-tier software development companies
Fostering a culture of open communication and accountability
Creating and implementing a unified vision for technology delivery at AbbVie
Ensuring best practices in project management, resource allocation, and agile execution
Providing vision and direction for software delivery function that provides technology primarily used to discover and develop new therapeutics
Driving opportunities to improve process and/or technology
Making key decisions that are guided by established strategies and priorities
Influencing operating policies and procedures that affect the domain
Recruiting, coaching and developing a team(s) of managers and senior managers
Directing and controlling the activities and budget of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups and/or operations
Providing usage optimization and process framework leadership for the methodologies used in application creation and development
Making quick flexible decisions that influence the future course of the business and/or technology domain
Responsible for determining delivery resource management strategy and organizational structure
Building collaborative relationships and effectively interacting frequently with business and/or technology senior leaders
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree and 10 years experience OR Masters Degree and 9 years experience OR PhD and 5 years experience
Effectively connects employee and BTS functional goals to business and/or overall AbbVie goals
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to drive outstanding employee performance and engagement through developing, coaching, motivating, energizing and inspiring team members
Experience managing teams of at least 10 people with a resource mix of managers, employees, matrixed teams, virtual teams, contractors and managed service providers
Ability to communicate problems in terms that are understandable to BTS Leadership and end users at all levels
Subject matter expert in technology and/or business domain
Experience managing a budget of at least $10 million
Preferred
Experience in technology operation, strategy, planning and implementation and/or relevant business domain preferred
