Electrical Engineer, PE

Responsibilities

Perform electrical systems planning, design, and calculations for complex infrastructure projects
Develop detailed electrical and control schematics
Design medium- and low-voltage power systems, lighting, grounding, lightning protection, fire alarm, security, telephone/data, wireless communications, and other low-voltage systems
Prepare project-specific technical specifications using CSI MasterFormat and UFGS standards
Incorporate design updates using AutoCAD and/or Revit
Support project schedules and budgets, ensuring technical quality and accuracy
Assist in preparing status reports, basis-of-design documents, project manuals, responses to client comments, and other documentation
Estimate level of effort and construction costs at various project phases
Review submittals and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs)

Required

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
10+ years of experience in a consulting engineering environment
Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of primary practice, or ability to obtain via comity within 12 months
Experience with utility coordination and permitting processes
Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills
Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and related electrical design regulations
Proficiency with power systems analysis software (e.g., SKM Power•Tools, ETAP, EasyPower, AmpCalc)
Proven experience in the design of water and wastewater facilities; additional experience with industrial or transportation projects is a plus
Valid, unrestricted driver's license

Preferred

Familiarity with Revit or AutoCAD Electrical for design coordination
Experience supporting business development and proposal preparation
Exposure to the design of solid waste or DOT infrastructure projects
PMP certification or formal project management training
