Postdoctoral Scholar, Plasma Proteomics and Spatial Proteomics
The University of Chicago is seeking two postdoctoral scholars for their ovarian cancer research laboratory focusing on plasma and spatial proteomics. The role involves advancing research methods to identify biomarkers for ovarian diseases and understanding treatment responses through collaborative projects.
Responsibilities
Establish MS-based plasma proteomic methods capable of distinguishing between benign and malignant ovarian diseases
Identify and validate reliable biomarkers to support clinical decision-making
Use LC/MS-based spatial proteomics capable of identifying the origins, development and response to therapy in ovarian cancer patients
Identify the origin of different ovarian cancers and effective therapies for individual ovarian cancer patients
Collaborate with the Matthias Mann Lab in Munich
Integrate within a multidisciplinary translational clinical team
Qualification
Required
PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, analytical chemistry, bioinformatics or related discipline/field
Minimum 2-3 years hands-on experience with LC-MS/MS analysis
Collaborative mindset and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong academic background with a publication record in peer-reviewed journals
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience: Proteomics mass spectrometry and proteomics, sample preparation, including working with plasma or tissue samples, bioinformatics/data analysis tools and experimental design
