Responsibilities
Support clients within the assigned geographic area by assisting with public affairs functions, including public relations, public information, government affairs, community outreach, website design and maintenance, graphic design, and media relations
Assist with creating public information materials such as press releases, newsletters, project fact sheets, statistical reports, PowerPoint presentations, and public service announcements
Coordinate logistics for special events, including public meetings and hearings, open houses, groundbreakings, ribbon‑cuttings, and project tours
Provide support for public meeting facilitation
Assist with website design, photo gallery updates, database administration, statistical analysis, reporting, and routine monthly maintenance
Support the design and production of project collateral materials, including displays, fact sheets, brochures, newsletters, and maps
Capture digital photographs for project documentation and photo galleries
Monitor daily newspapers and compile relevant news clips and advertisements related to the firm’s projects
Perform general administrative and coordination tasks as assigned
Complete other duties as determined by the Supervisor
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies, Public Relations, English, Public Administration, or a related field
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with strong verbal communication abilities
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with media representatives, employees, managers, community members, and elected or appointed officials
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to deliver persuasive public presentations
Ability to listen effectively and respond appropriately to citizens and other stakeholders on a wide range of issues
Proficiency with standard computer applications required
Preferred
Prior internship experience in a consulting firm preferred
Basic knowledge of web design tools (e.g., Dreamweaver) and graphic design software (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Publisher) preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish skills highly desirable
