Distribution Center Specialist

Responsibilities
Monitor, schedule, and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to meet customer and business requirements
Communicate with carriers, freight partners, and internal teams to resolve delays, discrepancies, or exceptions
Track shipment statuses and proactively identify risks to on-time delivery
Support cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliation efforts to maintain accurate stock levels
Investigate inventory variances and collaborate with operations to implement corrective actions
Ensure all inventory movements are accurately recorded
Conducts routine audits to resolve discrepancies
Researches discrepancies in coordination with Finance
Orders and manages departmental supplies
Prepare shipping documents, bills of lading, and compliance paperwork according to regulatory and company standards
Analyze workflow bottlenecks and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
Support daily DC performance metrics and reporting activities
Participates in meetings with support teams
Utilize tools to process orders, track inventory, and maintain accurate records
Provide data-driven insights to supervisors and managers to improve logistics, labor allocation, or vendor performance
Ensure adherence to company safety policies, product handling standards, and all applicable regulatory requirements
Participate in safety audits and contributes to maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant environment
Qualification
Required
HS Diploma or GED
Experience with JDE or similar ERP systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Ability to operate PIV equipment (forklifts, tuggers etc.)
3-5 years of warehouse, logistics, or distribution center experience
Ability to interpret shipping documents, inventory data, and operational reports
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Demonstrated experience working in fast-paced environments with a sense of urgency
Self-motivated, with demonstrated ethical behavior
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
