Test Engineer (Onsite)

They are seeking a Test Engineer to provide oversight and engineering support for engine test runs, ensuring the successful disassembly, repair, assembly, and testing of gas-turbine engines at their maintenance facility.

Responsibilities
Prepare engine for test overseeing, pre-test preparation, engine test, post engine test, final check out and ship
Determine appropriate test requirements for workscope performed
Interpret customer requirements and combined with PWOC specific tasks, provide engineering direction in how to proceed with work scoping
Provide engineering support for shop visit including responding to technical questions, and substantiating/authorizing technical documents (Solumina WCD, TOs, LEAs, EA and IENs)
Perform test cell performance analysis for engine visits
Support Operations in solving any assembly/configuration/inspection problems for specific engine visits
Troubleshoot engines in test cell
Appropriately research, support, and advise other functional areas regarding technical issues and trends
Communicate with the necessary functional groups, vendors, and customers on any technical related issues. When required, engineers will accompany materials, quality or accounts management employees on vendor and customer visits to provide routine technical support and assessment
Seek opportunities to reduce costs and increase quality and efficiency using new materials, processes, or technology
Assist in training mechanics, inspectors and others related to various technical issues
Develop and utilize robust standard work and desktop procedures for HMC TE processes
Represent team in mid-level technical discussions
Identify areas for process improvement and participate in improvement events
Perform any other related functions or support other MRO production lines as required by management to ensure the success of the enterprise
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college/university w/minimum 5+ years of experience OR
Master's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college/university w/minimum 3+ years of experience
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college/university
Experience with enterprise resource planning systems such as SAP
Operational experience in an MRO engine facility
Process or manufacturing experience on gas-turbine engines
Experience with continuous process improvement
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, and Visio
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work 1st shift (0700-1600) or 2nd shift (1500-2300), as well as extra time as necessary to ensure completion of assigned tasks; may be contacted during off-hours to answer job-related questions
Demonstrated commitment to Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations, policies, procedures, and best practices
Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
Ability to lead cross-functional teams on a wide variety of tasks and with limited supervision
Ability to analyze engine historical and performance data to identify malfunctions and trends
Ability to learn and utilize data acquisition systems and associated engine data analysis software
4+ years test cell experience on gas-turbine engines, military engines a plus
Knowledge and experience using precision measuring instruments
