Environment, Health and Safety Manager

SAVI EHS is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager with a strong electrical construction and commissioning background to support a large-scale data center project in Sterling, Virginia. The EHS Manager will lead safety oversight for electrical trades and commissioning teams, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

Lead daily on-site safety operations with emphasis on electrical installation, energization, and commissioning activities
Provide safety oversight for energized work, LOTO, arc flash boundaries, testing & start-up procedures
Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926, NFPA 70E, and project electrical safety programs
Support commissioning teams during system start-up, equipment testing, and operational readiness phases
Facilitate DHA, JHA, and pre-task planning for electrical scopes
Conduct site orientations, toolbox talks, and focused training on electrical and high-energy hazards
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
Oversee high-risk work including confined space, hot work, crane operations, and critical lifts
Maintain detailed safety documentation, audit records, and compliance reports
Track and analyze safety performance metrics to drive continuous improvement
Partner with project leadership to promote accountability and a strong Zero Incident culture

Required

Minimum 7 years of EHS experience in construction environments
Active BCSP Certification required (CHST, STSC, ASP, or CSP)
Strong background supporting electrical construction and commissioning operations
Knowledge of electrical hazard controls, LOTO, arc flash protection, and energized work planning
Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and construction risk mitigation
Experience on data center, mission-critical, or industrial construction projects strongly preferred
Excellent leadership, communication, and contractor coordination skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital safety reporting systems

Preferred

NFPA 70E training or electrical safety credentials
OSHA 30 required; OSHA 510, OSHA 500, or advanced safety training preferred
Degree in Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
Experience supporting testing, commissioning, and system energization phases

Benefits
