Responsibilities

Innovate & Implement: Design, implement, and interpret deep learning algorithms to solve complex challenges in pathology image analysis
Collaborate: Work with cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate and apply state-of-the-art computer vision techniques (Deep Learning/Machine Learning)
Automate: Implement workflow automation utilizing a combination of AI/ML methodologies and system-level automation
Knowledge Sharing: Proactively share findings and technical knowledge to support the development of the wider Roche community
Scale & Optimization: Solve the challenge of processing high-resolution medical images at high speeds to support exponentially increasing demand

Required

Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student - Senior level preferred)
Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student)
Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student)
Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or Biophysics
Fluency in Python is required
In-depth knowledge of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Computer Vision fundamentals
Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
Experience working with large datasets; specific experience with image processing or Whole Slide Imaging (WSI)
Proven ability to optimize code and algorithm efficiency

Preferred

Experience applying ML algorithms to biomedical imaging data
Familiarity with High Performance Computing (HPC) clusters and parallelization
Strong collaborative coding practices, including version control (Git) and literate programming
A track record of contributions to open-source packages or publications in top conferences or journals
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
