Neighborhood Development Administrator

The City of Hamilton is seeking a Neighborhood Development Administrator to lead the daily operational management of the 17STRONG Board and its initiatives. This role involves supervising the neighborhood engagement team, fostering community engagement, and managing relationships with various stakeholders to enhance the quality of life in Hamilton.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary operational liaison for the 17STRONG Board, providing staff support to board members, board member development, and related work
Leads and/or supports the planning and execution of 17STRONG initiatives such as the Neighborhoods Summit, Love Your Block, microgrants, and other priorities that the board identifies
Provide daily management, coaching, and performance oversight for Neighborhood Coordinators and Engagement Specialists
Act as a direct resource for resident volunteers, neighborhood organizations, developing strategies to build capacity and improve local quality of life
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with City officials, other City departments, partner organizations, and community stakeholders to address complex neighborhood issues and streamline service delivery
Perform high-level administrative tasks, including technical analysis, reporting, and making data- and input-driven recommendations to the Executive Director of Neighborhood Services
Maintain an active presence in Hamilton’s neighborhoods, including regular participation at evening and weekend events and meetings
Exercise independent judgment to resolve community concerns and develop innovative approaches to neighborhood-level challenges
Oversees the development and maintenance of the SOPs of the City’s resident service request system (311) to deliver exceptional customer service
Attends meetings, conferences and workshops as requested and authorized and performs related work as required

Required

Graduation from a college or university of recognized standing with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Administration, Non-Profit Management, Community Development, Planning, or related field
A minimum of four (4) years of experience in a community engagement position at a governmental or non-profit organization (examples: managing a volunteer board or other frequent collaboration with community stakeholders)
Graduation from High School or GED (will be verified for finalists)
A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a community engagement position at a governmental or non-profit organization (examples: managing a volunteer board or other frequent collaboration with community stakeholders)
Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends

Preferred

Experience as a team manager/supervisor
Experience as a staff liaison to a volunteer board
Experience as a project manager
Involved in community activities and/or other community volunteer work (does not need to be in Hamilton)
