Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for all incoming telephone, radio, and digital requests for service
Dispatch 11 helicopters and 1 fixed-wing aircraft, coordinating time-sensitive air medical transports
Gather, process, and communicate critical information accurately and efficiently during high-stress situations
Maintain real-time situational awareness of aircraft locations, weather, logistics, and crew status
Create and manage electronic records using a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system
Communicate clearly and professionally with pilots, medical crews, hospitals, EMS, and public safety partners
Support flight and patient safety through diligent monitoring, documentation, and adherence to protocols
Participate in emergency response planning, quality improvement efforts, and ongoing training
Represent Life Link III with professionalism, integrity, and a strong customer-service mindset

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
Demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service and satisfaction
Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal skills
Computer literate with the ability to learn and adapt to new software programs
Ability to type 35 words per minute
Commit to shift work in a 24/7/365 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays
General geographic knowledge and map reading skills
Maintain composure and clarity during emotionally intense and time-critical situations
Rapidly assess evolving scenarios and adapt plans due to weather, mechanical, or logistical challenges
Accurately handle confidential patient and operational information
Work independently within established protocols while knowing when to escalate complex situations
Operate multiple technologies simultaneously, including radios, phones, CAD systems, mapping tools, and tracking system

Preferred

EMS, air medical communication, and/or 911 communication center experience
2 years of experience in a health care environment
Knowledge of aviation and medical terminology
Licensure: EMT, EMD, POST certification or equivalent education or experience
Two-year degree in related field
