Responsibilities
Serve as a hands-on technical contributor supporting SAP BW by enhancing extractors, transformations, InfoPackages, process chains, and Analyzer reports
Design and implement modern Azure-based data engineering solutions using Azure Synapse workflows, data pipelines, notebooks, and SQL-based data warehousing
Act as a task lead on large initiatives or project lead on smaller efforts, coordinating resources, timelines, milestones, and communication to ensure successful delivery
Partner closely with business stakeholders and cross-functional IT teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable data solutions aligned with best practices
Estimate development and configuration effort for assigned work and support team members with performance optimization and troubleshooting
Collaborate across teams to resolve complex technical issues and improve system usage and efficiency
Participate in change management processes, adhering to established standards and assisting with the development of new standards and procedures as needed
Create and maintain system documentation and user guides; develop and deliver user training as required
Evaluate 'make vs. buy' technology options under general direction and stay current on emerging technologies and industry trends
Continuously build technical and business expertise through training, research, and participation in technical or user groups, while actively sharing knowledge with peers
Perform additional duties as assigned and operate in alignment with the company’s AAP/EEO policies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
5+ years of experience in SAP BW development
1+ year of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data engineering tools, including Azure Synapse (workflows and pipelines), PySpark notebooks, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), and Function Apps
Strong understanding of data extraction, transformation, data modeling, governance, and security concepts
Solid analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Working knowledge of ABAP related to extractor enhancements, transformations, Function Modules, BAPIs, and BADIs
Functional understanding of SAP AFS modules, including Sales & Distribution, Order-to-Cash, Materials Management, and Procure-to-Pay
Preferred
Experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse is a plus
