Responsibilities
Support researchers in the conception, development and optimization of experimental setups
Mechanical design, including layouts, piping systems, and 3D design
System integration into controls systems
Creation and review of Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD)
Write Technical and Standard Operating Procedures
Prepare mechanical bid design specifications
Work independently and in small teams, in a way that enhances team dynamics
Qualification
Required
Master's degree (equivalent or above) in Mechanical and Chemical Engineering
Strong safety mindset
Knowledge of computer aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCad and/or Solidworks
Self-starter with the ability to perform well under pressure
Strong organizational and planning skills
Preferred
Knowledge of industrial gasses and gas piping systems
Ability to create P&ID and PFD for new and existing experimental systems
Ability to create budgets and funding proposals for capital projects
Project and construction management (budget and timeline)
Experience in an industrial environment
Knowledgeable about 3D design
