Quality Manager
Confidential company is seeking a Quality Manager who will develop, implement, and manage the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure product and service consistency. The role involves leading a team, managing quality control processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Leads team of QC and QA-focused employees (both exempt and non-exempt)
Investigates and corrects customer issues and complaints that relate to quality
Continues to stay up to date with all matters related to inspection, testing, measurement and analysis portions of ISO-9001:2015. Ensures that procedures, work instructions, internal audits, corrective actions, management reviews and other elements of the Quality Management System are maintained. Trains and assists each department manager with their roll in a QMS
Conducts Quarterly Management Review and other QMS reporting requirements as per ISO and WIKA Corporate guidelines
Drives Continuous Improvement (CI) in conjunction with the Corporate CI team
Manages workers engaged in Quality Control, Inspection, Testing activities and continuous improvement to ensure effective time management and high technical integrity
Manages site Document Control and ensures standards and protocols are followed
Provides required training to new employees, as well as continuous instruction for improvement and development of direct reports
Completes performance evaluations of subordinates on an annual and as needed basis
Reconciles timecards for direct reports, by scheduling PTO in Kronos, adjusting schedules and correcting punch errors
Enforces the company and departmental work rules and regulations, creates corrective actions as required
Interacts with various cross-functional teams to drive QMS practices, behavior, and culture
Tracks, analyzes and reports performance related to established quality objectives and the Cost of Poor Quality targets in order to drive a culture of Prevention
Works with Level II and III NDT personnel to document and implement inspection criteria and procedures
Develops and investigates corrective actions to prevent the reoccurrence of quality issues
Manages NCR process by recording and tracking documentation of NCRs. Communicates all corrections and conducts training for each NLR
Drives continuous improvement actions based on analysis of NCR and CAR data
Supports Customer Returns / Complaints with Customer Service, Sales, and Operations
Supports development of ITPs, QIPs, and associated documentation standards, including all customer driven specifications
Coordinates and handles all 3rd party inspection/testing on- and offsite
Ensures that all calibration & testing tools and equipment are calibrated and meet industry standards
Verifies all documentation and inspection reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner, beginning with the contract review followed through customer receipt
Performs both internal and vendor audits; addresses findings with RC/CA tool. Also prepares and schedules all audits and re-certifications related to certificates filed by WIKA. Example, ATEX, FM, CSA, ISO, ASME, PED, IECE, 3A Sanitary, SIL and GOST
Ensures proper management of weld procedures for all project work and on site welding services
Performs ancillary duties as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in related, technical field required. 10+ year's industry experience in lieu of a degree
10+ years in manufacturing environment, with 5+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry, automotive or similar industrial environment
Demonstrated competency with various root cause tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone
Experience with developing/documenting procedures
Knowledge of materials, specifications and tolerances for welding, machining and assembly
Knowledge of NDE techniques including UT, MT, PT, and RT
Advanced data analytics proficiency required
Experience with PFMEA, Statistical Process Control, Process Audits, and other advanced Quality Assurance measures required
Must have the ability to communicate effectively with others in writing and verbally
Must be able to work under pressure of schedules and deadlines
Able to multi task and easily adapt to changing situations
Preferred
5 years' experience with ASTM, ASME preferred
5 - 10 years of Quality leadership experience in either an ISO 9001 or API manufacturing environment, preferably in metal fabrication industry preferred
5+ years' experience working directly with welding and NDE processes preferred
2+ years experience leading / managing compliance certifications and audits such as ISO, API, ATEX/IECEx, FM, CSA, etc
Lean / Six Sigma Black Belt preferred (5 years' experience as Green Belt or higher required)
Quality-related certifications through ASQ or other reputable organizations preferred
