Assembler - Crashworthy

Martin-Baker America, Inc. is seeking an Assembler for their Crashworthy department. The Assembler will perform manual and semi-automatic assembly processes, maintain a safe working environment, and provide labor and technical support for various product lines.

Responsibilities

Executes work prioritized by their Supervisor
Record all work performed via computer using SAP transactions
Contact supervisor in the event of any discrepancies
Maintain a safe and clean working environment
Clean up work area at end of shift
Attend pertinent training workshops
Receive in-house training in areas of hazardous material policies, procedures, and general workplace safety
Required to monitor own work, be self-motivated, and possess the ability to be supervised
Ability to read and interpret complicated blueprints, drawings, flowcharts, and build plans
Possess flexibility and the ability to handle multiple tasks independently in an organized manner
Ability to train necessary manufacturing activities to fellow employees
Must balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in manufacturing areas
Adheres to applicable Martin Baker America operating procedures and work instructions at all times
Provide labor, technical, and maintenance support for the heat treat area
Provide labor, technical, testing, and maintenance support as needed
Possess ability to provide support with multiple product line
Adheres to all M-B America policies, operating procedures and work instructions at all times
Understand the company vision, mission and values and how they are relevant to the role and function
Encourage teamwork, promote integration and accountability, show humility, exercise discipline and work to improve and grow in your skill sets as an individual contributor

Required

High School diploma or GED
Minimum of 2 years' experience in manufacturing of products
Accurate and complete verbal and written communication skills between Department Supervisors and production line employees
Ability to operate and use computer and make complete and accurate entries into preformatted screens
Possess general math skills
Ability to read and interpret complicated blueprints, drawings, flowcharts, and build plans
Ability to make minor adjustments to machines
Ability to bring up 'work to list' in SAP
Ability to use hand tools (wrenches, sockets, pliers, utility knives, etc.) and the use of power tools (air and electric screwdrivers, pneumatic pop riveters, etc.)
Ability to setup, run, and monitor small pneumatic and hydraulic presses and orbital and radial riveters
Ability to assemble components with adhesives, sealants, and use inspection equipment (scales, venires, force gauges, etc.)
Ability to display leadership of other personnel not under direct supervision
Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently complete tasks accurately and on-time
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with subordinates, peers, supervisors and managers
Physical ability to sit, stand, bend, and move frequently throughout the facility
Ability to lift material not exceeding 50 lbs
Occasional local travel is expected
