Responsibilities
Assist with the implementation of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies, practices, guidelines, and procedures
Identify location-specific EHS requirements and participate in the development of related programs and policies
Assist in developing EHS training programs and conduct training to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate initiatives
Supervise incident and accident investigations, including root cause analysis, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and completed
Conduct environmental, health, and safety audits and risk assessments
Participate in external EHS compliance audits and loss prevention audits
Coordinate and track corrective actions arising from risk assessments, compliance audits, and loss prevention audits in collaboration with site personnel
Liaise with facilities maintenance and property management teams to ensure fire and life safety controls are properly implemented and maintained
Oversee and implement permitting requirements related to air, water, and land jurisdictional regulations
Serve as the primary site contact for government agencies and regulatory authorities on EHS-related matters
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in environmental health & safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field
Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in an Environmental, Health & Safety or similar role
Extensive knowledge of health and safety engineering processes and best practices
Familiarity with ISO environmental regulations and principles
Ability to evaluate, control, and minimize physical and chemical hazards
Strong understanding of industrial and workplace safety practices and the ability to research and apply them effectively
Awareness of current and emerging EHS laws and regulatory requirements
Strong teamwork, project leadership, and coordination skills
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written)
Effective time management and multitasking abilities
Ability to manage and control multiple health and safety issues simultaneously
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
