Responsibilities
Prepares, verifies, and posts transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records
Research complex transactions, validate and balance input, and research and respond to inquiries regarding transactions
Review, verify and input financial transactions including the examination of checks, invoices, requisitions, contracts, and other documents for accuracy and completeness in a timely manner
Prepare appropriate calculations, post data to journals and ledgers in assigned area, and identify and report invoice discrepancies, duplicates, or errors to the supervisor
Interface with vendors and departmental personnel to obtain information to verify or support records. Respond to vendor and internal inquiries regarding status and payments
Maintain organized and accurate accounts records and documentation and assist in the collection of data and records in support of ad hoc requests and/or audits
Assists in the collection of data and records in support of ad hoc requests and/or audits
Assist with month-end closing activities, as assigned
Adhere to internal controls, policies, and procedures related to accounting area
Performs other related duties as required
Qualification
Required
Possession of a high school diploma or GED
A minimum of three years of accounting support or general administrative support experience
Entry-level skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
