Responsibilities
Design and architect power flow modeling pipelines to estimate hosting and withdrawal capacity across large geographies and multiple scenarios
Translate power system simulation outputs into spatially indexed datasets that can be queried and reasoned about programmatically
Work with predictive models that incorporate planned developments, regulatory constraints, and grid evolution into capacity and risk assessments
Collaborate closely with product, infrastructure, domain experts, and customers directly to define system requirements and interfaces
Help establish engineering best practices and technical standards as the team grows
Hire, onboard, and mentor additional engineers over time
Qualification
Required
Experience with generation interconnection related studies. You must have 2+ years of hands on experience with tools like TARA, PSS/E, or PowerWorld
Strong understanding of what data developers, utilities, and balancing authorities need to successfully advance transmission-scale projects
Experience working with different ISOs/RTOs environments such as ERCOT and CAISO
Experience with PostgreSQL and geospatial databases such as PostGIS
Comfort working with python, geospatial data, and large datasets. Direct GIS experience is helpful but not required
Willingness to expand your software engineering skill set if you do not already have deep production experience
An embodied startup mentality, demonstrating ownership, and effectively balancing high-quality output with a keen sense of urgency
Preferred
Experience with spatial indexing or mapping frameworks
Prior experience at an early-stage startup or on founding engineering teams
