Responsibilities

Set Technology Strategy
Define and own CYM’s long-term restaurant technology roadmap, aligning systems, platforms, and investments with business goals and growth plans
Translate business needs into scalable, secure, and user-friendly technology solutions
Lead and Develop the Technology Team and its Partners
Build, coach, and retain a high-performing technology organization, including shop managers and senior technical leaders
Establish clear operating rhythms, support models, and accountability for system uptime and service
Select, manage, and hold technology vendors accountable for performance, cost, reliability, and service levels
Negotiate contracts and ensure partners align with CYM’s values and operating standards
Own Core Business Systems
Oversee POS (Toast), kitchen and restaurant systems (R365), back-office platforms, corporate applications, and integrations
Oversee menu management across all ordering platforms
Ensure systems are reliable, scalable, well-documented, and supported with minimal disruption to shops
Enable Shop Operations and Support Growth
Partner closely with Operations to ensure technology works in real restaurant environments
Champion solutions that support speed, accuracy, training, and ease of use for hourly teams and managers
Ensure technology scales smoothly with new shop openings, remodels, and market expansions
Partner with Operations on NSOs to deliver consistent, repeatable technology launches
Manage Security, Risk & Compliance
Establish and maintain strong cybersecurity, data privacy, PCI compliance, and disaster recovery practices
Prepare the business for audits, incidents, and risk mitigation appropriate for a multi-state restaurant company
Guide Technology Investment
Own the technology budget, prioritize spend, and clearly communicate trade-offs, risks, and return on investment
Balance innovation with operational stability and cost discipline
Lead Change Management
Drive adoption of new tools and processes through training, communication, and cross-functional collaboration
Ensure teams are supported before, during, and after technology changes

Required

10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including ownership of enterprise-wide systems
5+ years experience in a multi-unit, consumer-facing business such as restaurants, retail, or hospitality
Proven success supporting rapid growth and new unit expansion
Deep experience with restaurant POS, labor/workforce systems, inventory, and guest engagement or loyalty platforms
Demonstrated experience building and leading managers and senior technical leaders
Strong understanding of modern cloud-based systems, integrations, data platforms, and cybersecurity best practices
A practical, operator-first mindset — you design technology that works on a busy shift, not just on paper
Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner cross-functionally at all levels of the organization
