Responsibilities
Own the development of fraud detection models, including automating training and deployment to ensure systems are scalable, documented, and tested for model drift
Align with Data and Analytical Engineering to integrate new data sources into our algorithms using dbt best practices
Build and execute experiments to evaluate the efficacy of new models, third-party data sources, and emerging tools
Convert complex business requirements into solvable data science projects that provide actionable strategic insights
Constantly scrutinize existing methodologies to improve model accuracy and data input quality
Develop tools and strategies to help non-technical stakeholders understand and utilize model results effectively
Qualification
Required
6+ years of professional experience training and deploying models that deliver measurable value, specifically using regression, clustering, and decision trees
A deep technical emphasis on gradient boosting-based methods (XGBoost, etc.)
Expert skills in SQL: CTEs, joins, and subqueries to manipulate complex datasets for modeling
Strong ability to use Python for automation, application deployment, and web frameworks
The ability to deploy your own models and set up essential monitoring
Familiarity with the modern stack, including Scikit-Learn, BigQuery/Redshift/Databricks, and visualization tools like Looker, Tableau, or Streamlit
You are a problem solver who balances technical excellence with commercial impact
You are comfortable with 'over-communication' and can adapt quickly to changing priorities
Preferred
Experience with AWS cloud services (Sagemaker, ECS, EMR)
Advanced knowledge of experimentation design and evaluation
A 'tenacious' attitude—you are willing to do things manually when necessary but seek to automate at every opportunity
