Responsibilities
Design, implement, test, and deploy software components for SDA ground operational systems
Develop robust APIs and services; create unit/integration tests and automate validation
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines; apply GitOps, automation, configuration management, and infrastructure?as?code
Containerize applications and orchestrate services with Docker and Kubernetes
Collaborate with development, operations, and security to meet performance, reliability, and compliance requirements
Author technical documentation (architecture, interfaces, runbooks) and contribute to readiness reviews
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or related STEM field and 2+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree plus 6 months of experience
Proficiency in Python and Java; strong understanding of API design, testing, and management
Knowledge of DevOps principles (CI/CD, automation, IaC), cloud platforms (AWS; Azure a plus)
Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
Understanding of security best practices (risk/compliance, vulnerability management, encryption/PKI, auditing/monitoring)
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire
Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required
