Vanderlande is seeking a Controls Support Engineer to join their North American Service Center team. In this role, you will ensure the reliability and efficiency of automated material handling systems by troubleshooting incidents, optimizing performance, and providing technical support both remotely and on-site.

Responsibilities

Swiftly diagnose and resolve complex incidents related to automated material handling systems to minimize downtime
Diagnose, repair, prevent, modify, maintain, and commission Allen-Bradley PLC systems
Troubleshoot and optimize various bus networks, including Profibus, ASI bus, Profinet, and TCP/IP
Proactively analyze log data to identify and resolve potential system issues
Work proficiently with IT systems relevant to industrial automation
Apply your comprehensive knowledge of electromechanical and networking systems, with a strong focus on Allen-Bradley PLCs, to provide top-notch technical support
Provide essential on-site support for troubleshooting, commissioning, and critical system maintenance during projects, peak customer periods, and system updates
Maintain accurate incident documentation and effectively escalate complex issues when necessary

Required

A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field
A minimum of 3 years of experience in controls technology, specifically with Allen-Bradley PLC systems
Proven hands-on experience with controls and PLCs
Strong Allen-Bradley PLC experience
Strong understanding of Low-Level Controls (LLC) and industrial networking systems
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
A strong team player with a solution-oriented mindset
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
A strong service-minded approach
