Responsibilities
Install, configure, upgrade, troubleshoot, and maintain routers, switches, CMTS (cable modem termination system), and related network infrastructure
Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade Linux and Windows software applications supporting network monitoring and alerting systems, firewalls, DNS, and IDS/IPS
Acts as a technical resource for Call Center employees and field technicians by providing guidance and assisting with troubleshooting cable modems, wireless customer equipment, and software issues
Provide advanced support for customer email requests escalated from the Call Center and field technicians, including written and verbal instructions when required
Stay current on emerging developments in cable modem, networking, wireless, and Internet technologies
Evaluate tools, methods, and technologies that improve customer satisfaction, expand services, increase revenue, and reduce operational costs
Qualification
Required

Support wireless solutions, monitoring and alerting servers, and the citywide cable modem and PON network
Install, configure, upgrade, troubleshoot, and maintain routers, switches, CMTS (cable modem termination system), and related network infrastructure
Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade Linux and Windows software applications supporting network monitoring and alerting systems, firewalls, DNS, and IDS/IPS
Acts as a technical resource for Call Center employees and field technicians by providing guidance and assisting with troubleshooting cable modems, wireless customer equipment, and software issues

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university, plus two (2) years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong working knowledge of Cisco and Juniper network platforms, Windows operating systems, and related tools/applications
Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, including routing, switching, DNS, and DHCP
Experience implementing and administering Cisco IOS and/or Junos OS
Basic knowledge of wireless networking technologies
Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively and professionally with colleagues, managers, and vendors
Excellent communication and organizational skills with an emphasis on customer service and the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and ability to use job-specific software
Must have a valid Arkansas Driver's License and a good driving record
Ability to work effectively during periods of time constraints
Ability to work non-standard hours when required
Must live within a 30-minute response time of the intersection of Harkrider and Oak Streets in Conway
Preferred
Microsoft, Cisco, and Juniper certifications preferred
