Economic Development Liaison - Economic Development
NEOGOV is seeking an Economic Development Liaison to support the Economic Development Department by guiding businesses and developers through permitting and regulatory requirements in New Mexico. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to facilitate communication, prepare development agreements, and provide technical guidance to promote efficient economic development initiatives.

Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for businesses and developers with questions related to state, county, and municipal requirements for business operations, and economic development projects
Manage customer relations matters within the Economic Development Department and the Community Development Department, Building Services section
Provide technical assistance to businesses regarding application procedures, timelines, and required documentation
Act as liaison to Economic Development, Businesses, and constituents to provide information on the County’s planning, permitting, and inspection process
Draft and prepare development agreements
Track, document, and follow up on issues or complaints raised by businesses or developers to ensure timely resolution
Research and interpret requirements related to zoning, building permits, business licenses, and other regulatory processes affecting economic development projects
Provide technical expertise and guidance on permits, licenses, and compliance processes to County staff, other agencies, program participants, and the community for business operations
Interpret and explain building codes, rules, and regulations to contractors and the public
Research and analyze necessary codes, policies, and procedures to formulate responses
Coordinate with internal County departments and external agencies to streamline processes for businesses
Work closely with departments and outside agencies to maintain efficient and effective progress toward achieving the goals and objectives for the permitting and public hearing process
Facilitate communication between departments, developers, and community stakeholders to resolve conflicts or obstacles
Maintain up-to-date informational resources, checklists, and guides for public use
Represent department in meetings, public presentations, and outreach activities
Recommend process improvements based on feedback from businesses, developers, and County staff
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in urban or regional planning, business, public administration, or related field
Four (4) years of professional level experience in economic development, business development, planning, permitting, licensing or related work
Valid driver's license. Must maintain a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record in accordance with County policy
Must pass pre-employment background check and driving record check
Preferred
Master's degree in urban or regional planning, business, public administration, or related field
