Responsibilities

Provides indirect patient care under the direction of the Clinical Manager/Charge Nurse, Staff RN, or LPN
Meets the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff, and medical staff
Prepares and compiles medical records
Orders and stocks basic office supplies for the unit
Floats to other units as needs arise
Participates in performance improvement activities
Works cooperatively with the medical and hospital staff who support the care of adolescent, adult and geriatric patients

Qualification

CNA certificationHealth Unit Coordinator certificationBasic computer experienceHigh school diplomaContinuing educationBCLS certification

Required

High school diploma or GED from an accredited institute required
Obtains at least 12 hours of continuing education; a minimum of six hours must be specific to assigned area of nursing
BCLS required, recertification annually

Preferred

Experience preferred
CNA in the state of applicable state preferred
Health Unit Coordinator certification desirable
Basic computer experience
