The Ohio Department of Veterans Services is dedicated to providing care for Ohio's veterans. They are seeking an Information Technologist 3 to provide IT support, service to information system users, and manage infrastructure, software development, database administration, and business process analysis.

Responsibilities
Must conduct themselves professionally at all times & in accordance with the DVS standards of customer service. This includes but is not limited to acting respectfully & impartially. Must also provide accurate information & timely issue resolution while abiding by the agency’s Customer Service Policy
Provides IT support & service to information system users &/or IT staff
Installs, monitors/maintains, configures, upgrades, &/or administers/operates hardware &/or software; network connectivity
Utilizes vendor supplied & 3rd party utilities for monitoring
Conducts performance tuning for hardware &/or software
Develops & maintains ad-hoc utilities or reports to automate processes
Extracts & performs data manipulation tasks
Creates &/or modifies existing program modules (the creation of static content or graphics related to web-design is not software development)
Complies with software reusability guidelines
Writes test cases &/or scripts for unit & systems testing
Verifies & documents unit & system test results to ensure software is producing desired results
Debugs & revises programs when unit & system tests do not produce desired results
Creates &/or modifies necessary program &/or application source code documentation (e.g., use cases, in-line code comments) in accordance with agency standards
Performs database backup/recovery from DR plan
Conducts data modeling & implements physical data models
Provides database support
Advises & consults with users on accessing various databases
Resolves data conflicts & inappropriate use of data
Provides performance tuning & configuration for query language statements
Monitors security & validates all updates through database connections
Creates information technology process flows & flowcharts
Assists with the validation of requirements necessary for the successful completion of the information technology projects
All other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
36 mos. combined work experience in multiple areas of assigned responsibility (e.g., infrastructure, database administration, software development, business process analysis) including 12 mos. combined work experience as specified by the agency position description & job posting
Completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems; 12 combined work experience in multiple areas of assigned responsibility (e.g., infrastructure, database administration, software development, business process analysis) as specified by the agency position description & job posting
Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above
