Responsibilities
Mature the agile processes in use with a focus on continuous improvement as well as providing the ability to pivot to meet business and market demands
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high performance within the engineering team
Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
Monitor project progress and identify and address potential issues
Conduct annual performance appraisals and employee development plans
Provide coaching and direction for direct reports
Identify career paths and create career succession planning for direct reports
Ensuring the enterprise’s data assets are protected from compromise and that all team members recognize their responsibility for security in our processes and implementation
Lead efforts to optimize engineering solutions for scalability, performance, and reliability
Collaborate effectively with the development leads, architects, software engineers, business analysts and QA engineers to deliver high quality solutions
Manage and coordinate resources both onshore and offshore
Lead the team in the design and implementation of integration approaches for our strategic partners, customers, vendors
Develop and maintain a technology roadmap that aligns with the product roadmap
Drive the development of detailed functional specifications of the designated product releases and projects
Recommend feature/quality/time trade-off decisions for all designated product releases and projects
Qualification
Required
BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Deep Agile Process Methodology experience with Scrum and scalable Agile processes
10+ years' experience managing a software development team, comprised of both onshore and offshore members, with preferred experience building full stack web-based application software
Strong experience in managing all phases of the software development lifecycle
Complete understanding of agile principles and experience running scrum teams
Hands-on individual with strong design skills and in-depth understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
Strong understanding of how technology works, with significant development experience with one or more of the following: .NET Core, C#, NodeJS, Java, or similar technologies
Experience with data warehousing using SQL Server, SnowFlake, DBT, or equivalent technologies
Expertise in the ELT/ETL Patterns in Data Warehousing and various implementations
Experience architecting and consuming APIs
Knowledge of relational databases and strong appreciation for data collection and analytics
Excellent written, verbal, presentation communication skills. Must be able to read and interpret complex information, talk with internal and external customers and listen attentively
Effectively build interpersonal relationship skills to establish working relationships with direct reports, peers, and colleagues
The ability to bring about great results by anticipating challenges and opportunities in advance of these challenges occurring
Preferred
Experience or familiarity with Azure cloud and/or AWS
Kubernetes
Azure Devops, Jira or similar
Snowflake, DBT and Tableau
