Responsibilities
Provides support for software applications in areas such as configuration, deployment, installation, tuning, monitoring, maintenance and updating
Provides technical assistance and training to users and IT staff as needed
Responsible for creating documentation related to application support
Administers software applications including configuration, deployment, installation, tuning, monitoring, maintenance, updating, documentation and data archiving
Works with the QA and QC teams to test, review and document installation, operation and troubleshooting procedures
Assists with the design and implementation of backup, recovery, disaster recovery and monitoring plans for supported software applications
Provides technical assistance, customer service and problem resolution for supported applications
Develops and runs queries and reporting for users
Manages user access and assists in setting up single sign on for applications as required by the company
Pursues new technologies, knowledge, training opportunities and improved problem resolutions
Researches, tests and develops new tools and technologies
Participates as a member of software application project teams under the direction of senior staff or supervisors and may provide project documentation
Implements system enhancements and assists in developing recommendations for application purchases and upgrades
May also perform administration of application servers, including backup, recovery, disaster recovery, monitoring, tuning and documentation to ensure availability for customers
Incorporates functional, operational and field requirements into administration activities
Adheres to applicable standards including NERC CIP, NIST, ISA and IEEE as required for supported applications
Qualification
Required
Four or more years of experience providing troubleshooting, configuration, administration and support for software applications
A degree in computer science, information technology or a related field may be substituted for a portion of the experience requirement in accordance with company guidelines
Knowledge of supported applications, computers, network components, operating systems and software as they relate to the applications supported
Strong customer service skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong troubleshooting capability
Ability to articulate complex technical information to both technical and nontechnical audiences
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to provide training and mentoring to less experienced staff
Intermediate skill level in supported applications
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to balance and manage competing high priority work demands
