Responsibilities

Accurately inputs all invoice information into accounting system for all county departments
Sorts and matches invoices
Reviews all invoices and requests for payment for mathematical accuracy
Ensures appropriate supporting documentation has been provided by the vendor
Verifies vendor information and confirms that purchase orders or payment requests have been approved
Receives, researches, and resolves a variety of invoice discrepancies
Corresponds with vendors and responds to inquiries in a timely manner and with high-quality customer service
Prepares invoices with supporting documentation for auditors
Reviews all work for completeness
Performs any other duties as assigned

Required

Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in accounts payable or a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Finance, or a course of study related to the occupational field
Knowledge of county and departmental policies and procedures
Knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures
Knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal laws
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Knowledge of customer service principles
Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs
Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions
Skill in oral and written communication
Ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language and orally in the Spanish language
Must possess a valid and current driver's license
Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, and a criminal background check are required
