Supervisory Economist
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is seeking a Supervisory Economist for its Office of Economics and Analytics. The role involves directing efforts to ensure understanding and acceptance of Commission policies, serving as a technical authority for economic policy decisions, and evaluating projects for compliance with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities
Directs efforts toward assuring broadest possible understanding and acceptance of Commission policies; and defends Commission actions
Serves as the technical authority for economic policy decisions on projects and reports
Evaluates projects for conformance with policy and planning requirements, existing laws, directives, and regulations
Monitors developments in economic policy affecting OEA and the Commission
Identifies and evaluates emerging economic issues requiring regulations or policy developments, evaluates alternatives, and recommends approaches to be taken
Assesses the current state of the Commission's economic regulatory programs, identifies areas of adverse economic impact on the public or the regulated industry
Oversees review conferences and conducts briefings and presents technical aspects of the reports, explains and substantiates review issues; and/or presents views on unresolved issues, responds to questions, identifies available options for decisions, and recommends courses of action
Qualification
Required
Degree in economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus
Combination of education and experience equivalent to a major in economics, plus appropriate experience or additional education
Minimum of one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 in the Federal service
Experience leading economic research projects by setting the scope, directing staff, and delivering recommendations to senior leadership
Experience improving data-analysis processes by identifying gaps and implementing efficiency fixes
Experience serving as advisor to leadership by providing data driven options and recommendations
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Current FCC employees must provide SF-50 verifying grade & status
Resume must not exceed two pages and must meet resume format criteria
