JNBA Financial Advisors is a Bloomington-based independent fee-only wealth management firm seeking a Financial Planning Specialist who enjoys the technical and strategy development of financial planning. The role involves providing support for advisory teams, ensuring planning consistency, and leading financial planning initiatives for clients.

Responsibilities

Provides hands-on technical support for advisory team members
Helps ensure planning consistency that adheres to the firm’s planning standards
Facilitates committee meetings and manages recurring tasks
Contributes to the development of financial planning-related content for the firm’s various communications channels
Serves as the in-house expert on all planning software tools used by the advisors
Prepares customized client-facing deliverables and analyses
Leads the development of financial planning initiatives that could benefit all clients
Touches various areas of the financial planning process, from strategizing, deep analysis, and research to the presentation of final recommendations to other Advisory Team Members and/or clients

Required

Bachelor's Degree
A Certified Financial Planner® or CPA accreditation
8–12 years of experience in financial planning or advisory support within an RIA or similar wealth-management environment
Strong technical planning skills, including cash-flow analysis, retirement projections, tax awareness, and estate coordination
A strong desire to learn JNBA's tools and processes
Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and financial planning and tax planning software applications
